Principal - IT Business Systems Analysis

As a Principal, IT Business Systems Analyst - Huntington, WV you will serve as a strategic partner and liaison between information technology (IT) and manufacturing operations identifying and delivering solutions improving the efficiency and effectiveness of production processes while meeting customer service levels.

In doing so you will have multi-site data analytic responsibilities including creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture, optimizing data collection flow and data delivery and automating manual processes.

You will perform IT lifecycle management of assigned applications where responsibilities include ensuring compliance, stability and integrity levels while driving continual improvements for the application assets and services in Huntington, WV. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, manufacturing process knowledge, business acumen, and excellent communication skills. In this role a typical day will include:

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet business requirements.

• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big-data technologies.

• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into manufacturing processes, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

• Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

• Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow and understand and comply with Alcon's Project Management Methodology in all planning/execution steps.

• Document detailed application specifications (User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications and System Design Specifications), translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules.

• Identify and deliver scalable Advanced Analytics and AI/ML solutions in partnership with Data Engineering and Data Science teams supporting manufacturing and quality function business objectives.

• Providing support for MES application related requests and issues including working with vendor and MES center of excellence (COE), partnering with Site Engineering to support for equipment integrations and supporting IT Integrations with systems such as SAP, MII, LIMS, Veeva, Foresight and MuleSoft.

• Strategically align and coordinate multiple project priorities while adhering to all timelines from the manufacturing site and ITCI while ensuring consistency with Security and Compliance policies.

• Liaise with Site IT Head to deliver business requests, providing early input into application planning and budgeting process as needed.

• Work closely with business partners in Identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives for IT solutions.

• Lead all aspects of end-to-end integration of assigned applications and services delivered to the manufacturing site both locally and globally.

• Responsible to maintain application asset lifecycle/inventory management data in ServiceNow along with all IT Admin SOPs and Architectural Handbooks for assigned applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Over 10 years of experience in data, business, and/or systems analyst roles including experience with structured querying language (SQL) development, administration and relational database schemas.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred (Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Systems Security, Electrical Engineering) with 10+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong proficiency in data visualization software including PowerBI, but preferably Tableau.

• Intermediate/Advanced proficiency - Alteryx.

• Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, Lambda, S3, EMR, RDS, Redshift.

• Experience with Data Lake architecture and best practices for managing structured and unstructured data.

• Experience with object-orientated / object function script languages: R, Python, Java, C++, VB.Net.

• Understanding of manufacturing technologies such as MES, SAP, shopfloor systems, data, databases and underlying infrastructure.

• Ability to work with globally distributed, cross-functional engineering, product, and operations teams.

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
