Tyler Technologies is looking to hire an Automation Engineer for our North Logan, Utah location.Our ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain test automation scripts, execute test cases, and perform comprehensive testing. The role also involves troubleshooting issues, conducting performance and security testing, and providing detailed reports to the development team. The ideal candidate should have experience with automation frameworks and strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, manage, and maintain test automation scripts by utilizing solid test automation framework and tools.
  • Design, implement and execute test cases per test plans based on testing requirements.
  • Assist with reviewing and editing test case scripts and writing queries.
  • Perform comprehensive testing including happy, unhappy, smoke, regression testing and validate that features functionality meet specifications and standards.
  • Conduct performance testing for response times on individual requests as well as high volumes.
  • Conduct scalability, security, data integrity and operational efficiency testing across multiple applications.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze issues found during testing to determine root causes and provide detailed reports to the development team.
  • Evaluate findings from automated scans and manual testing to determine if they are actual findings or false positives and provide detailed reports to the development team.
  • Provide analysis and consulting support for development and tech support team upon request.
  • Support teams by fulfilling ad hoc data retrieval and analysis requests.
  • Apply technical skills to ensure quality coverage of increasingly complex test scenarios involving web applications, APIs, databases and other system components.
  • Employ a continuous improvement approach to refine and improve processes and tools as appropriate or share recommendations with the team.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with automation frameworks and experience in tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Appium, TestNG/JUnit, etc.
  • Experience as a Java Developer/SDET/Test Automation Engineer.
  • Experience in automation of Web Application/API and optimizing applications/automated test scripts.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as OCI, AWS, or Azure.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and identify issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Willingness to take on occasional tasks beyond the defined role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CI/CD technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven, etc.).
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Experience interacting with databases and writing SQL.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
