What you will do:
- Provide direct patient care to patients with behavioral health disorders. Participate in treatment planning and implementation. Facilitate groups within assigned treatment programs. Document according to department/organization procedures. Ensures the safety and well-being of these patients by maintaining a safe milieu.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. This includes knowledge of the physical and psychological needs of patients served and the ability to respond appropriately to those needs.
- Participates in treatment planning by working with interdisciplinary team to identify patients' problems, needs and strengths, suggests modifications to treatment plan based on observation of patient behavior and provides input into discharge planning.
- Facilitates didactic, educational and program community groups within the assigned treatment programs. Encourages and facilitates patients' participation in therapeutic activities. Supervises patients to ensure their safety and their involvement in treatment.
- Completes patient, program, and department documentation.
- Orients new patients to unit, program and milieu by establishing a rapport with patients and families and making necessary introductions.
- Maintains a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
- Performs clerical and administrative assignments to support patient care, department and organization operations.
- Complies with facility safety, infection control and security program.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health related field or a Bachelor's degree in a non behavioral health related fieldanda minimum of 2 years' experience working in a behavioral health environmentrequired.
- Current LCPC (License Clinical Professional Counselor) or LCSW (License Clinical Social Worker) licensure to practice in the state of Illinois or eligiblepreferred.
- CurrentCPRcertification from American Association.
- CPIcertification within 90 days of hire or transfer
- Prior experience teaching or assisting with activities of daily living, therapeutic limit setting and monitoring of patients and their environment.
