Position Summary: This position is responsible for directing technical personnel to ensure the correct installation & maintenance of electricity metering & recording devices at the level of accuracy specified by LCEC standards and regulatory requirements. This position is required to be on standby as scheduled and work irregular hours when required.

Position Responsibilities



  • Direct & assist personnel in the installation, testing, maintenance & repair of all electricity meters & associated equipment. Ensure installations are in accordance with expected loads, installed coincident with consumer needs, and metering equipment accurately measures energy and demand information for revenue billing purposes within the company's established parameters
  • Direct & assist personnel in voltage surveys & analyze test results. Detect & correct abnormal voltage conditions. There should be no repeat tests due to improperly maintained and installed test equipment.
  • Direct & assist personnel in the dielectric testing of aerial devices and underground cable. Ensure the electrical integrity of aerial devices and underground cable and ensure the aerial devices comply with OSHA standards.
  • Complete all work in conformance with LCEC's Accident Prevention Rules manual.
  • Respond to after-hours needs and assist with coordinating the emergency repair of the electric system - within the established timeframe to consumer and electric system needs and restore service in a timely manner following an outage.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers at all levels within LCEC. Ensure smooth operations, productive communications and effective understanding during all interpersonal contacts. Provide current and accurate information to all requesters, courteously and in a timely manner.


Education



  • High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)


Experience



  • 2+ Years' experience as a Meterman Journeyman. (Required)


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Ability to navigate within Windows PC environment. Create, open and close files or applications using a mouse. (Required)
  • Familiar with LCEC Meter Testing Software Packages including MeterMate, WattNet Express, L&G 1132, and operation of a WECO test board. (Preferred)
  • Familiar with LCEC Voltage Monitoring software packages including PMI. (Preferred)


Licenses and Certifications



  • Driver License, Valid and in State Florida drivers' license or must obtain within 30 days of employment (Required)


Additional Licenses and Certifications



  • Completion of a Meterman Journeyman Apprentice Program. (Required)
