Job Overview

Hubbell is searching for a Quality Engineer to be responsible for identifying quality issues and executing quality improvement opportunities throughout the Chatsworth, CA facility. This includes improving overall quality performance. This individual will be an active coach on the production floor, helping all personnel understand and carry out quality principles each day while fostering the right culture of participation and engagement. The candidate must be a highly motivated and independent worker who has a passion for quality and the development of others. Position will offer complex challenges that require teamwork, in-depth data analysis, original thinking, persistence, and a positive attitude. Pay for this role will range from $90,000 to $110,000.

A Day In The Life

Duties and Responsibilities

* Establish quality procedures, standards and specifications

* Review of customer requirements and the investigation/ disposition of customer complaints (PPI's)

* Make sure that assembly/manufacturing processes meet quality expectations

* Set up and maintain controls, documentation procedures and the auditing in support of ISO 9001

* Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and publishing periodic performance results against expectations

* Be an effective communicator of expectations, both written and verbally, and have the appropriate balance between listening and directing to derive the best solutions and achieve compliance to expectations

* Well versed in root cause problem solving and the 8D Process

* Ability to act as coach to the plant quality and production teams.

* Ensure that the quality management system conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Standard

* Ensuring the integrity of the quality management system when changes are made

* Ensures products adhere to the process control plan and industry quality standards (UL)

* Help develop work instructions and trains employees and supervisors on the process

* Conducts performance process capability studies on assembly and production

* Document results and findings of quality inspections and creates action plans to resolve any deficiencies

Skills and Experience

* Minimum experience of 3-5 years in a Manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality or engineering role

* Bachelor's in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.

* Must be able to able to coach and guide teams through quality expectations and set quality standards.

* Must be able to reach consensus with Top Management and support the given vision/ direction.
