PURPOSE: This position is responsible for coordinating the day to day activities of the Ropes Course Operators ensuring excellent guest service is given, and Ropes Course International (RCI) standards are consistently followed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead ropes course team emphasizing safety, guest service, and MOA policies and procedures.


  • Provide assistance to guests with complex needs and in situations that require a leader to resolve.


  • Handle guest complaints and concerns in a calm and professional manner.


  • Open and close Dutchman's Deck Adventure Course independently or with supervisor.


  • Communicate scheduling, shift assignments, and manage break scheduling daily.


  • Address team member performance concerns, giving immediate feedback focusing on improvement.


  • Assist with documenting performance issues, communicating with department supervisors as needed.


  • Copy radio calls and prioritize tasks as they are communicated.


  • Utilize provided radio to communicate and coordinate tasks with other team leads and supervisors.


  • Support team members by resolving guest concerns and assisting during busy periods as able.


  • Explain and enforce ticket policies for Nickelodeon Universe and other attractions.


  • Take initiative with projects, problem solving, and decision making.


  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings (Take5) which includes communicating relevant news and making independent decisions to ensure coverage at each location.


  • Recognize positive team member performances and share team member success with supervisors.


  • Act as a leader in safety during emergency take down procedures, weather, lockdown, and other security procedures.


  • Maintain a professional demeanor when assisting upset guests and deescalate situations.


  • Recertify with RCI on an annual basis including recertification in emergency take down procedures. Walk and climb (ropes, ladders, stairs) at heights of five stories.


  • Tie specific knots, belay, move safely from element to element on course.


  • Observe any safety and guest concerns from assigned location.


  • Clean the ropes course, including biohazard spills according to trained procedure.


  • Act as a Ropes Course Operator as needed.


  • Maintain certification as a Ropes Course Operator.


  • Cross train with other MOA departments, and willing to regularly assist other departments.


  • Act as a Ropes Course Operator as needed.


  • Act as a team lead for all Specialty Attractions locations and as Ropes Course Operator when needed.


  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and high-volume days.


  • Additional duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.


  • Outstanding guest service skills.


  • Strong attention to detail and safety.


  • Strong verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills.


  • Strong guest service skills.


  • Must be able to stay within ropes course weight restrictions (under 300lb).


  • Maintain certification in Train-the-Trainer program (RCI).


  • Able to confidently complete and navigate the entire ropes course.


  • Able to remain calm during emergency takedown procedures.


  • Able to reach hands to heights of 7'2".


  • Previous MOA experience strongly preferred.


  • Previous ropes course experience preferred.


  • Previous leadership experience preferred.



PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Team member must also possess a level of hearing that will allow them to continuously be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, ability to see in low lighting and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, bright lights, colors, motion, and other visual stimuli. Ropes course team members must be able to tolerate wearing a harness for the duration of their shift.

  • Reach at/below waist:Infrequently, about 25% of the time


  • Dexterity:Continuously, about 90% of the time


  • Use of both hands to put on wristbands, assisting guests with equipment

Starting pay:

$18.59
