Serve as an advisor and support to management in the strategic planning process and development of human resource strategies that support the organization's needs. Provides support to multiple sites. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing HR strategies to provide support and counsel to various locations, while supporting National HR initiatives and the company's Mission and Core Values. The HR Manager performs activities related to performance management, compensation administration, leadership development, and affirmative action compliance, among others. Individuals in this position work closely with local management teams to foster teamwork and support HR-related processes. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of labor relations, including facilitating communication, investigations, grievances, arbitrations, litigations, and negotiations, as needed.
- Understand legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Consult with management on workforce planning strategies. Partner with all team members on developing workforce plans.
- Communicate with management regarding employee relations issues to consistently improve employee morale and productivity while being supportive of company policies.
- In conjunction with the Leadership Team, develop and execute proactive strategies that enhance employee morale, lower turnover, meet financial needs of the Company, and provide a consistent strategy.
- Consult legal counsel, as necessary.
- Assist employees and leaders in reporting and advocating leaves of absence with third-party vendors.
- Review, maintain, and monitor annual Affirmative Action Plans for Operations.
- Conduct leadership training in performance coaching, conflict resolution, recruitment and selection, harassment prevention, etc.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions, CBA language interpretation, etc.).
- Ensure data integrity of various systems by conducting audits.
- Provide quality control and quality assurance of all employee changes and approvals when using the company's employee database.
- Research, analyze data, and prepare reports for the Director of Human Resources.
- Research and recommend new HRIS functionality to streamline processes and improve services.
- Collaborate on policies and procedures to ensure they are updated and effective.
- Conduct internal system and procedural audits.
- Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure system updates are documented and communicated effectively; manage a log of system issues and enhancements.
- 15% travel required.
Qualifications: Education & Industry Experience
- HS Diploma or GED and BA, HR Management Certification, preferred.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience can substitute for formal education, with at least 2 years in labor relations, including handling complex employee issues and grievances, preferred.
- Two years of experience developing and implementing successful HR strategies.
- At least 2 years of experience in FAA and DOT regulated roles, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Strongly preferred: experience providing HR leadership for multiple sites.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
