Histology Lab Assistant

Staffmark is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Histology Lab Assistant to support daily operations in a fast-paced histology lab in Jonesboro, AR. This role plays a key part in preparing and processing human tissue samples and maintaining high standards for lab accuracy, cleanliness, and safety.

Pay: $15-$16 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Responsibilities:

• Assist with all essential histology lab duties, including slide preparation and tissue processing.
• Support quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Perform instrument maintenance and assist with new methodology or instrument implementation.
• Operate laboratory information systems with accuracy.
• Train new team members as needed.
• Maintain organized documentation and follow established safety protocols.
• Report directly to the Histology Lead Technician and/or General Supervisor of Operations.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; histology training and 1+ year of experience preferred (trainees considered).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Basic math skills for QC and data entry.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work with small tools and lab instruments.
• Comfortable working with chemicals, sharp tools, and machinery.
• Frequent standing and fine motor skills required.
• Must be a reliable team player with a solid work ethic.
