The Executive Director, US Value and Access will oversee the development and implementation of market access and organized customer strategies for Eisai's Neurology and Oncology portfolios. This position will lead the access strategy work stream with various cross- functional stakeholders to collect key customer insights, develop strategic recommendations, and design and implement all tactics across a range of customer groups to support the commercial success of our products. This position will collaborate closely with Market Access functions and with cross functional teams including Brand Teams, HEOR, Commercial Development, Analytics and Medical (as appropriate) to identify rich market insights across patients, providers, and payers, inform comprehensive market access strategies, and closely monitor executing the access plan across all key functions. In addition, the Executive Director, US Value and Access role leads the Pricing and Contracting team, strategically and operationally for the entire Eisai product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
  • Guide and support business development activities and new product planning through insights on landscape analysis, understanding of access drivers, competitors, and evaluation of likely payer response to varying scenarios.

  • Direct and oversee identification, prioritization, and development of product-specific plans to improve market penetration across key channels (e.g., Part B, Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, GPO, LTC, IDN, VA/DoD, Employer Groups, Retail & Specialty Pharmacies, distribution channels).

  • Proactively build relationships with external customer leadership stakeholders (e.g., C-Suite executives, pharmacy directors, KOLs, physicians, business managers, nursing directors) to solicit and disseminate critical insights.

  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation of CMS innovative Payment and Service Delivery Models.

  • Develop the market access value proposition and key value messages for assigned products.

  • Drive design and implementation of measurable tactical programs, action plans and/or other KPIs for new products.

  • Oversee consistent engagement with legal and compliance to ensure timely training and compliance with current and changing policies.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in the department through effective account management plans; develop robust internal training programs for key stakeholders.

  • Look at the pipeline of talent within account management as an organizational pool, investing in future skills, developing, coaching, and challenging high-potential members with different assignments.

  • Leads the Pricing and Contracting team, strategically and operationally for the entire Eisai product portfolio.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 15+ years of relevant experience. Experience in Life Sciences industry preferred.

  • Significant experience across multiple channels giving guidance for strategic decisions across product lifecycle.

  • Experience in market access strategy in combination with account management experience.

  • Proven strategic thought leadership and demonstrated experience defining and driving value and access strategies.

  • Experience in communicating and coordinating portfolio strategies across all Market Access functions - Payer, IDN, SP, Trade, Contracting and HEOR).

  • Experience guiding payer, provider and patient initiatives based on emerging healthcare trends.

  • Significant experience with Payer Insights including financial motivators and economics from a payer perspective.

  • Experience influencing leadership and driving collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., brand, senior leadership, advocacy).

  • Demonstrated analytic experience including financial acumen regarding GTN, Government Pricing, Part D and IRA.

  • Proven performance in earlier role including strategic oversight, people management, and strategic stakeholder management.

  • Business need driven role based on proven performance in earlier role.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The base salary range for the Executive Director, US Value & Access is from :275,900-362,100 Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
