Description

Purpose and Scope

Provides technical support and serves as a subject matter expert for manufacturing equipment. Regularly drives continuous improvement and supports new equipment projects striving to improve operational quality, safety, and efficiency of the equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Execute medium-term and short-term projects related to reducing costs of equipment operation.
  • Perform controls, electrical troubleshooting, and component replacement as needed.
  • Support projects by participating in the installation of new equipment for manufacturing.
  • Provide equipment support through validation, start-up, and continuous process improvement.
  • Train various departments on the use, set-ups, repairs and maintenance of equipment.
  • Write/edit User Requirements Specifications (URS), Installation/Operational Qualifications (IOQ) Change Controls (CC), procedures and necessary GMP documentation of equipment.
  • Compile and maintain up to date project plans, ensuring all activities are included.
  • Track progress of all activities against plan and notify the relevant personnel of potential delays and/or issues.
  • Confer with management, quality, and production personnel to resolve equipment problems.
  • Recommend and implement measures/processes to improve operating conditions of equipment.
  • Perform/support equipment assessments and testing activities.
  • Assist in the research/selection of equipment, parts for modication, and system integration options.
  • Serve as point of contact for outside vendors on applicable equipment related projects.
  • Provide support to other departments for equipment-related continuous improvement projects.
  • Support Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) related to equipment issues.
  • Maintain safe work environment and follow site policies and procedures.
  • Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Ability to perform and lead electrical/mechanical/controls troubleshooting to root-cause and drive and/or execute repairs.
  • High mechanical/electrical/controls aptitude. Ability to analyze systems and identify improvements for the most ecient outcome.
  • Desire to innovate and continuously improve processes and programs in the area of responsibility.
  • Working knowledge in computer skills including AutCad, Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs (ex AB, ControlLogix, Siemens, etc) to support systems: design, programming, maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Technical writing and documentation review skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple job functions efficiently.
  • Ability to work well with employees and outside contractors.

Education & Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 10 or more years in a technical role utilizing mechanical, electrical, and controls to improve equipment.
  • Experience with Change Control and validation preferred.
  • Completion of accredited training in electrical and controls preferred.
  • Prociency in machining preferred.


Working Conditions



  • Laboratory, Manufacturing and Office environment.
  • Some overtime and weekends may be required.


Compensation and Benefits



  • Pay: $42.00 to $45.00 per hour depending on experience
