Learn more at www.paradymemanagement.com. We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer in support of upcoming projects with a critical Law Enforcement customer. Candidates must already possess an Active SECRET security clearance to be considered. The person in this role can work onsite in Clarksburg, WV or can work Remotely.
Responsibilities
The Junior Software Engineer is responsible for supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications throughout the software development lifecycle. Key duties include:
Software Development:
- Assist in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of software applications.
- Develop and maintain cloud-based applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Build and optimize front-end applications to deliver responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Support automated deployment processes to maintain software integrity.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and implement patches and updates to ensure application availability and security.
Requirements Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in software development, including coding, testing, and debugging.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Basic understanding of front-end development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing practices.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Physical Requirements: These are the essential physical requirements needed to successfully perform the job.
- Sedentary work.
- Requires sitting up to 8 hours per day.
- May require lifting up to 5 pounds unassisted.
- Fine repetitive motor skills with hands, wrists, and fingers in coordination with eyes.
- Hearing, speaking, and vision: Adequate to perform job duties and communicate in person, via video, and telephone. Includes reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
- Other: Work may be performed in an office environment, which may involve frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.
