We are seeking Systems Engineers in support of upcoming projects with a critical Law Enforcement customer. There will be multiple openings for Mid and Senior level Engineers that will work together.

Candidates must already possess an Active SECRET security clearance to be considered.

The person in this role can work onsite in Clarksburg, WV or can work Remotely.



Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure systems, including cloud-based services, to support enterprise applications and ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. Key duties include:

    Infrastructure Design and Management:
    • Develop and implement strategies for automating deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Packer, and AWS CloudFormation.
    • Design and manage cloud environments, including AWS or Azure services like EC2, S3, RDS, VPCs, Lambda, IAM, and other cloud resources.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure high performance, availability, and uptime.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to maintain reliability and efficiency.
  • Security Implementation:
    • Apply security best practices, including secure access controls, data encryption, and integration with cloud security services like AWS Security Hub.
  • DevOps and Automation:
    • Implement CI/CD pipelines and integrate with services like Bamboo to streamline workflows and accelerate software delivery.
  • Containerization and Orchestration:
    • Work with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS) to scale and manage resource-intensive tasks effectively.
  • Collaboration:
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives) and work closely with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs.

Requirements for Senior Level

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, including cloud-based infrastructure design and management.
    • Proficiency in AWS or Azure services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPCs, Lambda, IAM, and other cloud resources.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Packer, and AWS CloudFormation.
    • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
    • Advanced skills in monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
    • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including network security, data encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).
    • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to provide team-specific training as needed.

Requirements for Mid-Level

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering, including cloud-based infrastructure design and management.
    • Proficiency in AWS or Azure services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPCs, Lambda, IAM, and other cloud resources.
    • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Packer, and AWS CloudFormation.
    • Basic understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
    • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
    • Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, including network security and data encryption.
    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).
    • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
    • Willingness to participate in training and knowledge transfer activities.

Physical Requirements: These are the essential physical requirements needed to successfully perform the job.

  • Sedentary work.
    • Requires sitting up to 8 hours per day.
    • May require lifting up to 5 pounds unassisted.
    • Fine repetitive motor skills with hands, wrists, and fingers in coordination with eyes.
  • Hearing, speaking, and vision: Adequate to perform job duties and communicate in person, via video, and telephone. Includes reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Other: Work may be performed in an office environment, which may involve frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.
