We are seeking Data Architects in support of upcoming projects with a critical Law Enforcement customer. There will be multiple openings for Mid, Senior, and SME level Architects that will work together.

Candidates must already possess an Active SECRET security clearance to be considered.

The person in this role can work onsite in Clarksburg, WV or can work Remotely.



Responsibilities

The Data Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable data architectures, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, and supporting decentralized data management practices. Key duties include:

    Data Architecture Design: Develop and maintain scalable cloud-based data infrastructure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh frameworks.
  • ETL Pipeline Development: Design and implement robust ETL pipelines using AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) to support data domain requirements and self-service analytics.
  • Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance practices, including compliance with data privacy, access controls, and lineage requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data domain teams to design and deploy domain-specific data products, ensuring adherence to schema design and data transformation standards.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Lead organizational training initiatives for data stewards and users, supporting the adoption of data mesh principles and governance best practices.
  • Data Catalog Management: Maintain a comprehensive data catalog to enhance data discoverability and ensure integrity across all domains.

Requirements for Subject Matter Expert (SME) Level

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and implementing data architectures, including large-scale environments such as data lakes, data warehouses, and data mesh frameworks.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and mentoring data engineering teams.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) for data storage, processing, and analytics.
    • Advanced knowledge of data governance practices, including privacy, access controls, and lineage management.
    • Proficiency in data catalog tools and automation workflows.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Requirements for Senior Level

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture design and implementation.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) for ETL pipeline development and data infrastructure management.
    • Solid understanding of data governance practices, including compliance with privacy and access control standards.
    • Ability to design and deploy domain-specific data products aligned with organizational standards.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong collaboration skills to work with data domain teams and stakeholders.
    • Ability to lead knowledge transfer and training initiatives.

Requirements for Mid-Level

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data architecture design and implementation.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda) for data infrastructure and ETL pipeline development.
    • Basic understanding of data governance practices and tools.
    • Ability to collaborate with teams to design and deploy data products.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
    • Willingness to participate in training and knowledge transfer activities.

Physical Requirements: These are the essential physical requirements needed to successfully perform the job.

  • Sedentary work.
    • Requires sitting up to 8 hours per day.
    • May require lifting up to 5 pounds unassisted.
    • Fine repetitive motor skills with hands, wrists, and fingers in coordination with eyes.
  • Hearing, speaking, and vision: Adequate to perform job duties and communicate in person, via video, and telephone. Includes reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Other: Work may be performed in an office environment, which may involve frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.
