Job Description

As a Housing Stabilization Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping clients find and keep safe, stable housing. You'll work directly with individuals referred from inside and outside the organization, connecting them with services, coordinating with landlords, and supporting their journey toward independent living. By teaming up with other care providers, you'll help build personalized plans that promote housing stability and overall well-being.

What You'll Do:

  • Partner with landlords, mental health providers, and other services to support stable housing.
  • Meet with clients to assess needs and strengths, and create a personalized housing plan.
  • Help clients explore housing options, troubleshoot problems, and gain access to housing.
  • Support the development of independent living skills.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis help when needed.
  • Understand the complex issues clients may face (legal, financial, etc.) and advocate for their needs.
  • Use strong communication to build trust and overcome barriers.
  • Help clients build support networks and feel connected to their community.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally aware environment.
  • Provide age-appropriate services tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful attitude in every interaction.
  • Stay informed on laws, regulations, and compliance policies, and actively participate in ongoing training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership ability and team spirit
  • Skills in evaluating outcomes and program effectiveness
  • Ability to connect with diverse communities
  • Meet all driving requirements if the role involves travel
  • Complete all required training within the timeline provided

Preferred:

  • Experience working with people experiencing homelessness
