Description

As a Laboratory Courier/ Driver you will be responsible to provide transportation of customers' samples to the laboratory in a safe and timely manager. You will deliver bottle orders to customers as needed. You will travel to multiple locations per day and handle pre-login request. You should be comfortable using a tablet or iPhone to take photos and upload a chain of custody agreement. This position is full or part-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Position will be based in our Cranston, RI location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Transport customer samples to laboratory in a safe and timely manner.

* Maintain records and supplies necessary for the efficient, timely, accurate, and cost-effective receipt of packages, coolers, supplies, and equipment, processes customer requests for cooler kits and sample containers in a timely, cost effective manner.

* Clean and store coolers.

* Establishes and maintains a supportive relationship with customer that will ensure future opportunities for projects.

* Follows through on issues/questions to facilitate this relationship.

* Maintains client directions/locations information, ensure that the company vehicle is in proper working order.

* Ensure that the scheduled maintenance is completed in a timely manner.

* Actively maintains a safe and healthy working environment that is in compliance with the requirements of ESS Laboratory's Health Safety Program (and any additional requirements demanded by local law/regulation).

* Maintains stock of general supplies to include, but not limited to, safety gloves, bottles, coolers, custody seals, labels, COCs, packing materials, etc.

* Conducts assigned tasks in a quality, cost efficient and productive manner and performs other duties as needed or assigned

WORK ENVIRONMENT

* Work is performed primarily traveling in a vehicle to and from client sites to the laboratory.

* Subject to outdoor environment including adverse conditions such as rain, snow and extreme hot and cold.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* May Lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally

* Lift 10 - 20 pounds of force frequently

* Standing, stooping, bending, reaching, walking, climbing stairs

* Must be highly mobile; ability to constantly enter and exit automobile.

* Sits and drives constantly.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full or part-time position. Must be reliable and able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and holidays in order to meet customer and laboratory needs.

TRAVEL: This position requires about 90% travel to and from the Laboratory to client sites
