Position Summary

The Equity Plan Administrator plays a key role in the design, development, analysis, implementation, and administration of Petco's Long-Term Incentive (LTI) award program and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). This position will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to seek and provide guidance on LTI practices, including market analysis and assessment, while supporting Petco's overall executive compensation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and ensure compliance of Petco's Long-Term Incentive (LTI) award program and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
  • Lead day-to-day equity program administration including new grants, vesting and retirement events, option exercises, communications, training, project management, quarterly ESPP enrollment, and process documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Lead Petco's annual equity grant process including Workday plan administration, communications, and project management.
  • Analyze and report on grant activity, share pool usage, ad-hoc analysis, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with global and local equity regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
  • Work with internal and external audit teams to maintain SOX and other regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for LTI and ESPP, provide support and education to employees regarding their equity holdings and Fidelity account management.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with the Legal, Finance, Tax, and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing and reporting.
  • Additional responsibility for Executive Compensation programs, including preparing equity related materials for the Compensation Committee, assisting with proxy development, and supporting cyclical processes including annual incentive, merit, and survey participation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR, Compensation, Finance, or related areas; equity or executive compensation experience (1+ year) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and data modeling skills; advanced Excel proficiency required.
  • Proven ability to identify compensation issues, recommend solutions, and drive decisions.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Effectively manage unexpected challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Fidelity Stock Plan Services or similar stock plan platforms preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx workflows and Workday compensation module preferred.
  • Retail industry experience, especially in multi-location environments, preferred.
  • CEP or CCP certification a plus.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
