POSITION SPECIFICS

The in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST)is looking for a Student Success Lead Specialist. This role oversees programs, services and staff that support students' academic and personal development, ensuring a supportive learning environment that promotes equity, persistence, and graduation.

Responsibilities: Key responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • Lead the design and implementation of strategic student success initiatives for the College of IST Chaiken Student Success Center, including retention and completion strategies.
  • Meet with students to identify and respond to learning needs, refer students to academic support resources with the aim of increasing retention, monitor and coordinate support services, and design methods to monitor academic progress.
  • Coordinate and provide services in a learning center, including assessments and tutoring, and deliver seminars and workshops to support student success.
  • Develop and implement proactive retention programs and initiatives; develop strategies to increase student engagement, close achievement gaps, and reach desired learning outcomes; leverage assessment data to identify opportunities for intervention; and create new learning resources.
  • Develop and manage intervention strategies for at-risk students.
  • Collaborate with faculty to design academic support programs aimed at providing students with tools and resources to succeed; define, measure, and report on desired outcomes; and collaborate with faculty and learning partners to optimize course content.
  • Collaborate with the offices of Academic Advising, Career Solutions, Student Engagement, Teaching and Learning, and first-year seminar to develop and implement support resources.
  • Integrate research-based strategies and interventions; define, measure, and analyze outcome data; and apply feedback to long-range planning aimed at advancing program impact.
  • Develop communication strategies to identify and engage potential participants; promote available support services; and create responsive and supportive learning communities that encourage student engagement.
  • Serve as a liaison to other departments and develop initiatives that improve the student experience across the University; collaborate with other academic services, including advising and disability departments; and foster partnerships with faculty, staff, and leadership in order to advance program goals.
  • Supervise full-time staff and student workers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $46,400.00 - $67,300.00.
