Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Indianapolis, IN. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • As a Contingent Structural Analysis Engineer for the client, you'll perform various system structural assessments across the full product lifecycle, including new design concepts and in-service operations.
  • You will also bring forward innovative analytical and experimental solutions for customer issues to meet whole product mechanical integrity requirements, including static, transient, and dynamic loads and responses.
  • Perform system-level structural assessments, such as Whole Engine Modeling, static, and dynamic analysis.
  • Experimental test planning and interpretation, such as simulation correlation to experimental data.
  • Facilitate teamwork between many disciplines (manufacturing, quality, engineering, product support).
  • Communicate technical and business results via reports and presentations to senior engineers both within and external to the client.
  • Participate in technical reviews, Product Safety Reviews, Technical Life Reviews, and Customer Reviews.
  • Take an active role in continually improving our engineering methods and processes.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $49.82/hr.

Hours: 40 hours/week.

Length: Temp (12 Months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience building and running static and dynamic structural analysis models.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) codes such as Nastran, Ansys, Dyna3D, NX, and internal client codes.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Gas Turbine experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Steady and modal analysis experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of Crack prop experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with programming such as Matlab, Python, Fortran, Java, C, and C++, and an interest in automating or scripting analysis tasks.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Juris Doctor or Doctor of Philosophy.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Stress analysts in ANSYS, Workbench, and APDL.
  • Have experience with thin-walled aerospace structures.
  • Testing experience, Strain Gauge Placement/Reading/Postprocessing.
  • Exposure to experimental testing and data interpretation, particularly for vibrating structures.
  • Ability to quickly learn mechanical integrity topics, such as Whole Engine Modeling, rotordynamics, and extreme event assessments (bird strike, fan blade off).
  • Ability to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish tasks on schedule.
