This position is a summer internship and expected to last three months. The internship pays $20 per hour.

During this internship, you will support our GIS team by assisting with GIS mapping, data analysis and other various tasks and projects. You'll be a key player in the collection, production, and maintenance of GIS records, while gaining impactful knowledge and experience in a field that you love!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of GIS datasets relating to as-built work orders and proposed designs using tools such as ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal or similar platforms.
  • Gathers and maintains geographic information system landbase data, including parcels, streets, and address locations.
  • Assists in preparing cartographic maps to visualize pipeline locations and data analyses for internal and external use.
  • Supports technical training and statewide mobile electronic data collection projects, ensuring spatial accuracy and data integrity.
  • Compiles and assist in conducting spatial analysis and SQL queries to detect and resolve spatial and attribute data inconsistencies to improve legacy data quality.
  • Support team members with process documentation, metadata creation, and database management tasks



Successful Candidate Must Have:



  • A High School Diploma
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Current enrollment in a degree program, or recent graduate in a program related to GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • Preference: Experience with ArcMap and/or ArcGIS Pro



Working Conditions
Field/office environment. Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
