The Department of Neuroscience at the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology, a division of the University of Florida, is seeking outstanding applicants for a faculty position at all levels. This is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position located in Jupiter, FL. We welcome applications from ambitious and collaborative investigators in all areas of modern neuroscience, employing molecular, genetic, biochemical, biophysical, cellular, anatomical, neurophysiological, and behavioral approaches to investigate the mechanisms underlying nervous system function and its disorders. The Department of Neuroscience at the Wertheim UF Scripps Institute provides a dynamic and collaborative environment dedicated to cutting-edge neuroscience research. Current strengths of the department include the use of advanced genetic animal models to study neuronal structure and function, investigate neuropsychiatric diseases, analyze neural circuit organization and behavior, and develop CNS drug discovery and development programs. Our expertise spans sensory neuroscience, substance use disorders, learning and memory, neural control of metabolism, neurodegeneration, and neuropsychiatric disorders. The Institute offers state-of-the-art facilities that support proteomics, next-generation sequencing, structural biology, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, medicinal chemistry, rodent behavior, and high-throughput small molecule screening for drug discovery.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD, MD or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant questions. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and participate in interdisciplinary research and training.

Successful applicants will have a strong scientific program; experience in, and a commitment to, teaching and mentoring graduate students from diverse backgrounds; and a strong interest in participating in inter- and intra-campus collaborations.
