Position Purpose |
The Deputy Director of the William Jewett Tucker Center provides strategic and operational leadership, supporting the Director in advancing the Center's mission of cultivating spiritual and ethical lives at Dartmouth. This role oversees day-to-day operations, manages key personnel and communications efforts, and ensures that the Tucker Center's programming is effectively assessed and aligned with institutional goals. The Deputy Director will also play a central role in representing the Tucker Center within Dartmouth and the broader community. |

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of experience in a leadership role within a higher education or nonprofit organization.

- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage teams and operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in public relations, social media, and digital marketing.
- Experience with financial management, including budgeting and donor relations.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective assessment tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in both internal operations and external programming.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with higher education administration, particularly in student affairs.
- Experience in spiritual and ethical program development and management.

Description |
Center Leadership (20%):
- Collaborates with and supports the Director in defining and implementing the Tucker Center's mission, vision, values, programs, and initiatives.
- Provides leadership, mentorship, and training to Tucker Center staff members.
- Participates in the development, communication, and implementation of policies and standard operating procedures.
- Represents the Tucker Center on institutional committees and working groups.
- Serves as acting director in the Director's absence.

- Oversees daily operations alongside the Director.
- Directs and supervises non-ministry staff members and relevant student employees to ensure the effective functioning of the Tucker Center's programs and activities.
- Leads staff development and training initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Coordinates seamless collaborations on shared initiatives with campus partners.

Communication and Outreach (25%):
- Develops and implements a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance the Center's visibility and engagement.
- Oversees all external communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Leads the overhaul and ongoing maintenance of the Tucker Center's website, ensuring it remains up-to-date and reflective of the Center's offerings.

Financial Oversight (15%):
- Works with the Director to establish and manage the Tucker Center's financial plan, including annual budgeting and ongoing administration. Reviews and approves program expenses.
- Along with Directory, partners with Dartmouth Advancement to coordinate donor stewardship and fundraising efforts.
