Alpha Omega is seeking a seeking a highly experienced Automated Test Engineer to evaluate, implement, and manage automated testing strategies and tools for advanced software and hardware systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and executing automated test architectures and scripts, ensuring system requirements are met and performance standards are exceeded. This role includes writing system test cases, analyzing results, and generating detailed progress reports. You will also contribute to risk management and system development initiatives, with a focus on aligning user requirements and test methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and recommend automated test tools, strategies, and architectures for application products.
• Design and implement test and evaluation procedures to ensure compliance with system requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts.
• Write and execute system test cases; document and report test results.
• Analyze test outcomes, identify root causes of failures, and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on software/hardware test strategy and user requirement alignment.
• Provide support across risk management assessments and full lifecycle development initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate system requirements.
• Maintain test documentation and provide presentations on test progress and results.
• Implement Rational Unified Process (RUP) and develop scripts using Rational Functional Tester.
• Communicate test status and progress to project stakeholders and management.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (required).

Experience/Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software/hardware testing and quality assurance.
• Strong experience in developing and executing test plans for complex software systems.
• Proficiency in Visual Basic, VBScript, or other scripting languages.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational database queries.
• Familiarity with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and automated test tools.
• Experience with Rational Functional Tester and Rational Unified Process.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to various audiences.
• Knowledge of system performance metrics and tracking.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $78,141.50 - $116,123. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
