Job Summary

The role of the Health & Safety Coordinator is to provide support to the organization. This includes safety systems administration, data and analytical support, regulatory compliance monitoring, safety project management, field presence/auditing, and general administration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administration of safety systems including Intelex, DriveCam, Avetta, and others
  • Safety data and analytical support including the preparation of reports on safety metrics
  • Monitoring regulatory compliance through various information sources
  • Managing multiple safety projects providing agreed upon deliverables in a timely manner
  • Supporting training initiatives including the H&S Academy and Safety Skills Institute for Supervisors
  • Conducts audits and inspections periodically to confirm compliance with applicable Cemex and regulatory requirements
  • Provide general administration support as requested
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management


Qualifications

  • Associates degree in related field and/or combination of relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of MSHA/OSHA/DOT regulations
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI applications
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity at times and deliver results consistently


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong computer skills, with proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database programs
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have extensive knowledge of equipment types, capacity and capabilities

Working Conditions

  • Capability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Ability to work with standard office/computer Equipment
  • Capable of working in an open office environment

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
