Marketing and Media is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join the already awesome team, taking the department to the next level of excellence!

Under the general direction of the Manager of Marketing and Media, the Marketing Specialist, Health and Wellness will be responsible for implementing creative strategies designed to enhance marketing services for all Health and Wellness units. This position will focus on updating and creating all marketing collateral used to promoting departments' presence across campuses. Key responsibilities include managing the department's website to ensure it is engaging and up to date, as well as working closely with other Marketing Specialists within the Division to help foster collaboration and communication with their respective units. This role requires a creative and organized individual who is creative and self-motivated to effectively communicate and work across different teams to achieve Division-wide marketing goals.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Marketing & Design (50% of position)

Responsible for creating marketing collateral for all Health and Wellness initiatives. Includes (but is not limited to) creating physical flyers/A-Frames; creating content for the digital display screens throughout campuses; social media content. Will work on large-scale campaigns for overall services.

Website Management (20% of position)

Responsible for updating, refreshing and maintaining the Health and Wellness websites with accurate information and ensuring site(s) remain current, accessible, and meet institutional standards.

Will utilize website analytics to continuously update and build an easy, engaging visitor experience.

Special Projects (20% of position)

Will work with other Marketing Specialists in the Division to create materials for signature weeks such as Spring Fling, Homecoming, and Heritage Celebrations.

Will work to promote collaboration, attendance, and support for all activities during these signature weeks across the Division and University.

Supervising & Training (10% of position)

Will review all material created by undergraduate and graduate student assistants for Health and Wellness units.

Will provide training and guidance to student employees not directly under Marketing and Media on effective MarComm practices - especially social media content creation and management.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Experience in higher education setting with proven record of increasing marketing efforts and outreach.
  • Experience creating a social media campaign with a proven record of increasing reach and following.
  • Experience working with Health & Wellness departments or campus recreation.
