JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing, evaluating, and providing administrative support to the agency's Professional Development Academy (PDA) including but not limited to: data collection of PDA participant activities, financial and budget processing, communicating with PDA participants and external stakeholders, answering any program related questions, managing PDA events and/or activities, evaluation activities, and generating applicable reports. In addition, acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned. Reports to the Director of Professional Development.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No supervisory responsibility. Will serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for 3-4 staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead the curriculum development for the agency Leadership Development Program (LDP) Curriculum in collaboration with the Director of Professional Development, Subject Matter Experts, and Professional Development Specialist(s) which include but are not limited to:

    1. Program overview and timeline.
    2. LDP Modules on Psychological Safety, Emotional Intelligence, Communication, and Team Building.
    3. Ensure curriculum is grounded in Adult Learning Theory.


  • Lead the evaluation design and implementation of the LDP which includes but are not limited to:

    1. Develop measurement tools to evaluate program effectiveness.
    2. Prepares and provides reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    3. Recommend instructional and curriculum design improvements based on assessments


  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Professional Development Academy which includes but is not limited to:

    1. Coordinate participant activities, timelines, and due dates.
    2. Maintain database of current participants, elected benefits, and required paperwork.
    3. Track budget expenditures, resources, and reimbursements
    4. Submit reimbursement paperwork on behalf of participants.
    5. Coordinate and analyze participation evaluations.
    6. Serve as the main contact for all Professional Development Academy inquiries and promotional activities.


  • Lead the recruitment and timeline efforts for upcoming Professional Development Academy cycles which include but are not limited to:

    1. Host informational sessions educating staff on academy benefits, eligibility criteria, application process, and required paperwork.
    2. Assist new staff throughout the application process.
    3. Review and revise Professional Development Academy application system content and processes.
    4. Review application submissions for eligibility.
    5. Collaborate with Director of Professional Development on participant selection.


  • Lead the Professional Development Academy evaluation activities which include but are not limited to:

    1. Coordinate and collect data through surveys, interviews, and other methodologies.
    2. Analyze data collection and evaluate the impact of the program on staff professional development,
      agency retention, and recruitment efforts.
    3. Prepares and provides reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
    4. Generate reasonable recommendations based on evaluation findings for program improvement


  • Provide support sessions for participants electing to sit for the National Case Management Certification and/or Social Work Licensure.

    1. Assist staff in registering for National Case Management Certification, if applicable
    2. Lead exam support sessions and identify areas where support is needed.


  • Collaborate with the Development team in completing quarterly and annual reporting to funders.
  • Serve as an advocate for Catholic Charities when meeting with external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with external stakeholders to generate new opportunities and create partnerships.
  • Review and revise forms, program operating plan, policies, and procedures related to the Professional
    Develop Academy in collaboration with Director of Professional Development and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Director of Professional Development to ensure the Professional Development Academy aligns with staff professional development needs.

    1. Conduct needs assessments of staff to determine future Professional Development activities


  • Research external instructors and trainers to provide instructor-led workshops for continuing education units.
  • Provide support to professional development training specialists including but not limited to:

    1. Co-facilitate in person instructor led trainings, virtual instructor led trainings, or How We Work Operation Orientation, as needed.
    2. Assist in maintaining the Professional Development Training Room, equipment, and scheduling calendar.
    3. Assist in coordinating the Professional Development training calendar.
    4. Problem solving when logistical and/or process related challenges arise


  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in learning and development, curriculum development, instructional design, or human services work environment, ideally in a social services or behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience, including managing staff.
  • Program evaluation experience strongly preferred.


SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:



  • Ability to collaborate with other social service professionals, agencies, and staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
