JOB SUMMARY: The Training Project Manager plays a vital support role within the Service organization, assisting the Training Program Manager in the development, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive technical training programs for HVAC service technicians and associated field staff. This position requires strong project management skills, a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure training content aligns with real-world applications and evolving technologies used in mission-critical data center environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Development & Coordination: Support the Training Program Manager in managing training project timelines, deliverables, and departmental collaboration. Track and follow up on open action items across departments, escalating issues as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Training Delivery Support: Assist in preparing training materials, agendas, and presentations. Coordinate session logistics such as scheduling, classroom setup, and resource management.
  • Technical Content Management: Ensure timely access to updated Service and Engineering bulletins and assist in maintaining a centralized technician training database with current instructional materials.
  • Technician Assessment & Development: Work with the service leadership team to assess individual and group training needs, supporting personalized and role-specific development pathways.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Engineering (Controls, Electrical, Mechanical, R&D), HR, and Operations teams to align training content with product updates, safety standards, and organizational development goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on HVAC industry best practices, new technologies, and field feedback to enhance and evolve training content.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating training modules, user guides, and visual aids in coordination with technical experts.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with LMS platforms and service databases (e.g., Glovia).
  • Ability to clearly communicate and simplify complex technical information for audiences with varying levels of HVAC knowledge.
  • Proven collaboration and communication skills across departments and technical disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to identify training gaps and recommend solutions.
  • High level of customer service orientation and responsiveness.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, including refrigeration, chilled water systems, evaporative cooling, heating, and controls.
  • Understanding of BOM structures, wiring schematics, and field service procedures.
  • Knowledge of application and product engineering practices.
  • Experience with Munters Production Operations processes and procedures (preferred but not required).
  • Working knowledge of Service policies, repair protocols, and safety standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Support training-related requests from management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in service team initiatives to continuously improve training offerings and technician performance.
  • May require limited travel to support training events at customer or company locations.
  • Support the mission of the Field Service organization by maintaining a strong sense of urgency, teamwork, and customer focus in all training activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience or exposure to lean concepts
  • Project Management Experience, Certifications and/or Courses

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminals, expansive reading, etc.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
