About the Role

This role will be reporting to Hillsboro Site Leadership

This role will be based at our technology development center in Hillsboro, Oregon.

At Watlow, team members find challenging opportunities producing high-quality products that will serve leading companies in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, sustainable energy production, medical equipment and food safety. As the Gas Delivery Technician, you will work hand-in-hand with the engineering team to set up and perform lab tests. A team member in this role is expected to independently instrument and perform lab testing and troubleshoot test setups. Lab tests may be required for new product development work or per a customer specific request. This role requires responsiveness, adaptability and attention to detail. The Gas Delivery Technician must be proficient in gathering, organizing and working with engineering to complete and present detailed test reports. The Gas Delivery Technician is also expected to join engineering for customer field visits or visit customer independently in assessments and field repairs.

Your Key Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoot/repair problems with machines or controls
  • Work with suppliers to get samples, order parts, and explore cost saving ideas
  • Train production employees on products, processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Perform tests, inspections, and other evaluations of products and processes based on defined procedures and standards and create procedures and standards for these activities
  • Create and program applications using appropriate software
  • Perform failure analyses of production line and field products
  • Contribute to resolution of manufacturability issues with production floor and Manufacturing Engineering for new products
  • Work independently to create test reports
  • Motivation to learn about new applications, equipment and processes
  • Create and assemble BOM, routing and other product attributes for all products designed to support PLM documentation and procedures and identify improvements where necessary
  • Provide coaching and feedback to less experienced technicians and designers
  • Conduct training and technical orientation for new employees



Required Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree or two-year degree and related experience, or equivalent experience (5-8 years)

Desired Qualifications

Experience with data logging or lab test instrumentation

Microsoft Office suite.

Strong grasp of basic electrical theory.
