Position Description

  • We are seeking a GIS Application Analyst II to join our team, providing technical support, application development, and integration expertise for our GIS systems, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Oracle Enterprise Geodatabase, and related tools. This role requires a strong understanding of GIS technologies, coupled with the ability to work closely with diverse teams across the organization to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, handling both technical challenges and interpersonal dynamics effectively, while also having experience supporting MicroStation and AutoCAD software in a GIS context. Additionally, the GIS Analyst will participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support when needed.


  • Essential Job Tasks:
    Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Provides technical support for users across various GIS applications (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, etc.), ensuring optimal functionality and addressing user-reported issues.
  • Troubleshoots complex issues related to ArcFM, ArcMap, ArcGIS Enterprise, Microstation, and AutoCAD software integration with GIS data.
  • Manages and resolve technical issues involving data integrity, performance optimizations, and system configurations across both GIS and CAD platforms.

  • Application Development & Integration:
  • Builds and configure web apps using ArcGIS Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, and Dashboards to meet organizational needs.
  • Develops Arcade expressions for data summarization, dynamic labeling, and spatial analysis within web maps and applications.
  • Integrates external data sources (e.g., CSV, REST services, third-party systems) into ArcGIS Enterprise apps, ensuring seamless data workflows.
  • Assists in the automation of workflows using Python and scripting tools to optimize GIS data management processes.

  • Database Management:
  • Works with Oracle SDE data, supporting GIS data management tasks like data loading, quality control, and performance tuning.
  • Designs and manages data models and schemas to enhance app performance and ensure efficient data workflows.

  • CAD Integration Support:Supports the integration of MicroStation and AutoCAD data into GIS workflows, ensuring proper conversion, mapping, and alignment of CAD data with GIS data layers.
  • Assists users in resolving technical issues related to CAD-to-GIS data conversion, spatial reference, and geometry handling.
  • Provides training and documentation on best practices for working with Microstation and AutoCAD within the GIS environment.

  • Collaboration & User Engagement:
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, deliver GIS solutions, and ensure applications meet the needs of stakeholders.
  • Builds relationships with non-technical users, translating complex GIS concepts into actionable solutions. Provide training and documentation to enable effective use of GIS tools.
  • Adapts your approach to collaborate effectively with individuals across different departments and technical backgrounds, ensuring project goals are met in a timely manner.

  • Problem-Solving & Innovation:
  • Uses creative problem-solving skills to design out-of-the-box solutions for spatial data analysis and application development, particularly when faced with data access limitations or technical constraints.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement, optimizing GIS workflows for efficiency and accuracy.

  • On-Call Rotation:
  • Participates in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical GIS systems, ensuring timely resolution of urgent issues.
  • Responds promptly to emergency issues or outages, minimizing downtime and impact to the organization's GIS operations.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any urgent technical issues related to ArcGIS Enterprise, Oracle SDE, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and other GIS-related systems.

  • Applications Analyst II
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field + 2 years experience or an Associate's Degree + 4 years experience or High School Diploma/GED + 6 years experience.
  • Certification in Esri ArcGIS Professional or other relevant GIS certifications preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro integration with cloud services) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management and working in cross-functional teams preferred.


  • Compensation Information:
    $82,520 - $103,140 (min. - mid.)

    Applications Analyst I
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field or an Associate's Degree + 2 years experience or High School Diploma/GED + 4 years experience.
  • Certification in Esri ArcGIS Professional or other relevant GIS certifications preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based GIS (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro integration with cloud services) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management and working in cross-functional teams preferred.


  • Compensation Information:
    $66,390 - $82,980 (min. - mid.)
