As part of a team of vehicle cleaners responsible for a variety of services, provide safe, clean and well-maintained vehicles for Cornell Fleet Services and C2C customers. Responsible for the fueling, cleaning and minor service work on the Cornell Fleet vehicles (buses, trucks, vans, cars). Provide excellent service to customers who are renting vehicles. Assists mechanics in vehicle maintenance and major service work.

This position is for Sunday to Thursday from 12:00pm to 8:30pm.

This is an Endowed, union position within the UAW. The starting pay rate is $23.44/hour.

We require these qualifications:

  • Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year experience in the service and repair, cleaning and detailing of vehicles.
  • Proven experience interacting with customers and co-workers to build effective working relationships.
  • Must be conscientious, able to utilize time effectively, work steadily under pressure, pay attention to detail, work independently, and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency using computers and ability to learn new software programs.
  • Required to work flexible hours including weekends to facilitate vehicle turnaround.
  • Have and maintain a valid NYS driver's license.
  • Ability to work in typical conditions of a vehicle maintenance garage environment.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 100 pounds.
  • Work requires standing, bending, and climbing ladders.

You will be a top candidate with our preferred qualifications:

  • Valid motor vehicle inspector's license.
