Job Title: Fiscal Tech/Accountant Location: Richmond, VA 23219 Pay Rate: $25.00 - 27.50/hr. on W2 without benefits Duration: 6+ months Work Hours: Standard Shift Job Description: Mandatory: The department is seeking an accountant with strong skills in analysis and reporting. This role goes beyond basic data entry; they need someone who can generate and interpret reports, providing insights into spending and revenue accounts. It is essential that the candidate has expertise in creating reports and conducting budget analysis, as other state experience alone will not suffice. Additionally , candidates should have knowledge of financial analysis, reconciliation, grant reporting, journal entries, and other relevant functions within state agencies . State experience is mandatory . The highest pay scale will be reserved for individuals with at least some experience working with a state agency. Role & Responsibilities: Assign invoices to the appropriate approvers. Process invoices for timely payment. Maintain detailed logs of invoices and payments for tracking purposes. Generate and analyze financial reports. Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency. Journal funds between cost codes as needed/ journaling funds from one cost code to another Track and analyze monthly budgetary expenditures. Perform other financial duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with state financial policies is highly desirable. Experience in processing state payments is an advantage. Proficiency in processing state journals is a plus.
