Director, Supplier Engagement - Programs
What you will be doing: This position plays a pivotal role in fostering strategic supplier engagement by collaborating within a matrix organization to strengthen relationships between suppliers and members, including hospitals, health systems, and collaboratives, to enhance alignment with the GPO portfolio. Utilizing Premier data tools and technology, the Director of Supplier Engagement will work directly with MWDVBE and Small Business suppliers as well as, Breakthroughs Award winners to drive strategic engagement, implement contract uptake strategies, and deliver value while increasing administrative fee revenue through the comprehensive GPO contract portfolio. By analyzing AP data, this role will proactively identify and secure new on-contract opportunities within the GPO, ensuring sustained supplier collaboration and achieving or exceeding target GAF growth goals. Primary outputs of this position will be:
- Drive successful GPO contract adoption by leveraging supplier contract opportunities such as activations, alignments, and conversions, while engaging internal subject matter experts to optimize strategic category opportunities.
- Foster strategic supplier relationships to enhance contract compliance and alignment with member needs.
- Ensure the retention and growth of existing GPO spend through proactive engagement with suppliers and members.
- Expand contract coverage by identifying new partnerships with MWDVBE and Small Business and Breakthrough innovative suppliers.
- Lead the MWBE+ and Small Business committee
- Consistently achieve and exceed key performance targets, including GAF growth, through strategic supplier collaboration and engagement initiatives.
Additionally, this team member will be responsible for
- Cultivate and enhance supplier relationships by proactively identifying, developing, and maintaining strong connections with key stakeholders in assigned accounts through consistent and meaningful interactions.
- Act as the primary liaison for high-priority issues and opportunities, collaborating with suppliers to address gaps, align resources, and support member goals effectively.
- Strategically plan, execute, and oversee GPO strategies and initiatives with identified suppliers, ensuring alignment with supplier objectives to sustain and expand existing contracts.
- Identify and prioritize high-potential growth opportunities for supplier engagement, driving contract uptake, documenting customer success metrics, and facilitating upsell opportunities for enhanced solutions and services.
- Liaise with major departments as Portfolio Advisors, Pharmacy, Marketing and Sales to move the supplier, strategy forward.
- Review and update supplier profile information with current third-party certification expiration dates
- * Consults with VP, SSE to ensure Federal compliance factors are being met, new processes are developed and implemented, to educate staff on supplier issues, and best practices are shared across internal and externally.
- * Acts as the liaison with the finance reporting group to ensure timely reporting as requested by the Premier members.
- * Works in partnership with VP, SSE to formulate proactive communication and education strategies to enhance understanding and cultivate awareness of impact of supplier initiatives on Program performance
- Provide project management leadership by closely monitoring supplier-driven initiatives, removing obstacles, and ensuring timely progression toward completion.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of supplier activities and progress within platforms such as SF and Monday.com to ensure visibility and alignment.
This person will have key competencies in understanding sourcing activities, supplier engagement, data analysis, account management, healthcare technology, and a track record of hands-on experience of generating new business and meeting/exceeding goals. Key Responsibilities Supplier Engagement and Relationship Management - 70% The Director of Supplier Engagement will be responsible for driving contract uptake within the GPO membership through use of Premier contract portfolio and engaging strategic suppliers, sourcing resources and SME's. They will collaborate with Member Field Service and member stakeholders to utilize data analytics to increase contract activations, alignments, and conversions to the contract portfolio. Project Management - 30% This role will have project management responsibilities- working cross functionally with the Member, Member Field Service, Premier suppliers and the GPO sourcing team. Will have MWDVBE and Small Business Engagement suppliers. Continuous monitoring of projects is needed to ensure initiatives are moving to completion, removing any barriers where applicable. Identify and coordinate appropriate Premier resources to support external (member) and internal (Premier) goals. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $99,000 - $185,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
