Senior Solutions Engineer

Location: Latrobe, PA


Job Summary and Mission:

As member of the Global Solutions Engineering team primarily responsible for developing Tooling Packages for complex customer parts. Position will require deep understanding of technical and functional requirements for customer's parts and processes and developing tooling layouts and custom engineered tooling solutions.Reporting directly to the manager of the team, the position requires that team members work independently as well as collaboratively across diverse group of Sales Teams, Application Engineers, Technology, Design and Manufacturing Engineers as well as customers.

Key Job Responsibilities:




  • Support Program / Project Managers on maintenance of project schedules, risks, issues, action items, and tool use.
  • Coordinate Project Management training program logistics.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Technology gate meetings.
  • Initiate workflow approval, execute revision management, and provide revision notifications to all stakeholders for Technology control documents.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the technology PMO including Project online updates, and database maintenance.
  • Assist with business process document maintenance and continuous improvement as needed.
  • Position can be located in any of the following locations: Latrobe, PA USA (eligible for That Works <50% from home).
  • Travel required up to <20%.



Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

* Preferred candidate will have at least 5 - 8 years of experience in Metal Cutting and/or Masters degree with at least 3 years of industrial experience.

* 3D modeling experience required (Unigraphics NX Preferred);

* Experience interpreting manufacturing drawings and engineering specifications, knowledge of geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is required.

* Ability to develop a machining process / cycle time for customer parts is required.

* Knowledge and experience in metal cutting and manufacturing processes is required.

* Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools is preferred.

* Proficiency in Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, Problem Solving, and Analytical skills are a plus.

* Disposition for travelling for support customer project (less than 25%).

* Distinctive teamwork ability, performance-oriented, ability to communicate technical concepts, systematic approach problem solving, project management is preferred.
