Job Description:

The QA Incoming Inspector is part of an inspection team responsible for the receipt, sampling, and distribution of samples, inspection, and recommendation of final disposition of components. The Inspector must exercise judgement and make recommendations regarding product acceptance. This position involves interaction with various levels of internal staff as well as contact with vendors, contract clients and various auditors.

  1. Handle, inspect, sample and recommend dispositon of all incoming raw material components used to process or will become part of the final product.
  2. Handle, inspect, sample and recommend dispositon of all materials utilized in the laboratory areas such as testing reagents, chemicals, and standards.
  3. Inspect, and recommend disposition of all returned goods for Customer Service and carry out that final disposition.
  4. Assist in writing and/or revising Standard Operating Procedures and Material Specifications for QA Incoming Inspection area and in the maintenance and control of other records associated with the inspection of incoming materials.
  5. Use glassware, which includes backfilling of trays during random sampling, qualification of vial test sets, and utilizing the PDA Technical Report 43 for classification of glass defects.
  6. Represent the Incoming Inspection area during vendor and client audits/tours of facility and interact with auditors.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Associates of Science
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Forklift Certified
  • General understanding of sampling practices in an ISO8 environment, to include the cleaning and use of a HEPA Filtered Sampling Booth, perform Nitrogen overlays, operate dedicated glove boxes, and the use of Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
  • Possess Quality Assurance knowledge and experience (ex ANSI/ASQ Z1.4) and be able to apply pharmaceutical industry guidance to the day to day job
  • Have a complete understanding of, and be able to use ANSI Standards to determine inspection sampling levels
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • Pharmaceutical Experience
  • FDA Regulated Industry Experience
  • SAP/Master Control
  • Advanced Vocational/Specialized Knowledge
  • Microsoft Word -Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret raw material specifications
  • The QA Incoming Inspector uses experience, cGMP's and SOP's as reference to help with quality assessments and decisions. Thorough product knowledge is important.
  • The position handles a wide variety of incoming raw materials and while acceptance criteria are outlined in procedures the application of that criteria involves a fair amount of judgement and creativity based on prior experience.
  • Basic exchange of information. Good verbal communication across departments
  • Able to prioritize and negotiate/compromise if all priorities cannot be met at once. Subject to detailed instruction/established routines
  • Provide analysis, diagnosis or production tasks, which noticeably impact end results and problem solving skills; able to search for solutions or new applications
  • Vision Requirements: 14/14 Corrected Near-Point Pass Color Deficiency Test

Shift: Weekday Days

Compensation:
This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage:
    • $27.01 - $36.53
