What you'll do

We are looking for an Industrial-Organizational psychology student or recent graduate to join the AlixPartners' Corporate Services (CRS) team for an internship position. In this role you will support the Assessment & Talent Insights team with projects related to candidate selection and employee/candidate assessment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in people analytics and selection topics.

The Assessment & Talent Insights Intern (known internally as Intern) is a part-time role located in Southfield, MI, reporting to the Assessment & Talent Insights Team Lead. This paid internship is approximately 20 hours per week in a 4-month assignment (with the possibility of extension depending on business needs). Paid relocation is not available for this position.



  • Data Management: Collect, manage, organize, and analyze highly confidential data to support People Team initiatives.
  • Data Analytics: Actively contribute to the study of different populations of professionals at AlixPartners to identify success factors using predictive analytics. Support ad-hoc requests from the business to provide evidenced-based suggestions.
  • Tool and Resource Development: Engage in projects aimed to forecast and understand patterns and trends in how we work, and how we can be even more streamlined, efficient, and effective as a team.

What you'll need



  • Enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an Industrial-Organizational Psychology Master's or PhD program.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and capable of working with data. Preference given to candidates who have experience with data management and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to be discreet and handle confidential, sensitive information with integrity.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to providing exceptional customer service, possessing professional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.
