This position requires the ability to produce professional safety documentation and identify, mitigate, and teach co-workers about risk and ways to reduce, eliminate, and sustain it in the workplace.



  • Onboarding - Conducting New Hire Training
  • Conducting and ensuring compliance to monthly safety training
  • Overseeing Hoist and Mobile Equipment certifications as well as ensuring operator's license are kept up to date.
  • Perform RCA's on safety related incidents, injuries, near misses and First Aids.
  • Safety committee leadership
  • Weekly/Monthly safety audits within the factory
  • Oversee fire extinguisher maintenance.
  • Hoist and Sling inspections
  • Forms and administrative safety duties
  • Inspection of tools and equipment
  • Ensure facility is up to code (electric and otherwise)
  • Lead culture change towards safety
  • Leads facility safety initiatives, audits, and supports the safety committees in completing assignments.
  • Sets the example for professionalism, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Finds opportunities for increasing profitability, working through the right channels for implementation and integration of best practices related to safety.
  • Support monthly operational goals with ideas to reduce hazards and risk exposures.
  • Create and maintain high standards for customer service both internally and externally related to safety targets.
  • Lead the corrective action process in the event a situation arises. Always making certain corrective action remains in place.
  • Held accountable for removing obstacles for Solomon Corporation manufacturing employees, helping to avoid production stoppages while adhering to safety and environmental procedures.
  • Observe related regulations, wears all required safety equipment - modeling safe work practices.
  • Demonstrate ability to audit EH&S processes to validate compliance and transfer of knowledge to the plant floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies or related field, required.
  • Demonstrated experience of EH&S data management systems; Dakota software experience, preferred.
  • 2-5 years professional safety experience from a robust and dynamic safety program.
  • Related mechanical experience preferred.
  • Positive and cooperative attitude towards all internal and external customers.
  • Help team members resolve questions and assist with the workload.
  • A dependable and strong work ethic; works safely.
  • Professional language and conduct at all times.
  • Ability to learn other areas sufficient to fill in where required.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
