Job Title: Part-Time Radar Systems Modeling Engineer (C++, Python, MATLAB) Employment Type: Part-Time, up to 24 hours per week, averaging 8 hours per week Job Description: SEG supports the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) through trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of radars, EO/IR sensors, seeker systems, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems. We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Radar Systems Modeling Engineer with experience in deployed AEGIS Radar system design and development to contribute to the development and execution of a technical roadmap for integrating and enhancing simulation capabilities. The role focuses on leveraging C++, Python, and MATLAB to integrate existing simulations, develop new functionalities, and deliver high-quality simulation solutions for internal analysis and government customer deliverables. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and integrate radar and sensor simulation solutions using C++, Python, and MATLAB, ensuring seamless interoperability between platforms.
- Enhance existing simulations by adding new capabilities to meet evolving customer requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and software developers to design, code, and test simulation solutions.
- Occasionally support integration activities on customer site.
- Support the delivery of simulations to government customers and end-users, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Provide technical expertise in demonstrating simulation capabilities to customers and stakeholders.
- Document code, integration processes, and simulation workflows for clarity and reproducibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clerance.
- Extensive signal processing design and development experienced in deployed AEGIS Radar system(s)
- Proficiency in C++, Python, and MATLAB, with experience in integrating these languages for simulation development or data processing.
- Familiarity with radar systems, EO/IR sensors, or related defense technologies.
- 10+ Experience in software development, including coding, debugging, and optimization in C++, Python, and MATLAB environments.
- Ability to work independently within a part-time schedule and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with simulation tools and frameworks for radar or sensor systems.
- Knowledge of numerical computing, signal processing, or data analysis using MATLAB.
- Familiarity with integrating C++ libraries (e.g., Boost) with Python (e.g., NumPy, SciPy) for high-performance simulations.
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development tools.
- Prior experience working with US Navy or MDA simulation requirements.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time, with a maximum of 24 hours per week, averaging 8 hours per week.
- Flexible hours, coordinated with the team to meet project deadlines.
