The Neurointerventional Radiology APP will provide procedural and clinical care services to adult patients at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) and the M Health Cinics and Surgery Center (CSC) in Minneapolis, and Fairview Southdale Hospital and the M Health Fairview Neuroscience clinic in Edina.

The PA or NP is an experienced member of the health care team who uses advanced practice skills with the supervision/collaboration of licensed physicians to provide comprehensive health care services to patients. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (APP) engages in independent decision making about health care needs and provides health care services to individuals. Provides physical and psychological health assessments, patient education and counseling, orders and interprets diagnostic procedures, and manages acute and chronic disease conditions ensuring continuity of care for individuals in the communities served.

This APP will join a team of neurointerventional specialists (endovascular surgical neuroradiologists) dedicated to the advancement of minimally invasive methods to treat patients with neurovascular disease. The role will include performing image guided procedures, as well as inpatient/outpatient consultation, and support of general neurointerventional work tasks.

Core responsibilities will include working closely with the neurointerventional specialists to perform image guided procedures such as cerebral angiograms in the treatment of stroke, spinal disease, and neurovascular disease. Clinical responsibilities will include periprocedural assessments, monitoring, consultation, patient and family education. There is an opportunity for outpatient consultations in the CSC and/or Edina Neuroscience clinics several days per month.

In This Role, You Will:

  • 1.0 FTE on-site support of the neurointerventional radiology team at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview Southdale Hospital, and affiliated clinics.
  • This will include working primarily Monday-Friday, daytime hours.
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient consultations, review pertinent imaging and laboratory studies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multiple subspeciality teams (vascular neurology, neurosurgery, critical care) to provide the highest quality care to patients with neurovascular disease.

We're Looking for an NP or PA Who Is:

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
  • Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
  • DEA, BLS, ACLS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities.

  • Critical care background or experience in the management of unstable patients.
  • New graduates with significant inpatient experience will be considered.

The full-time salary range is $125,759 - $155,660 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components.
