Job Summary

Working with the Data and Business Intelligence (DBI) team, the intern will have the opportunity to learnmore about data and technology and how it is used inhigher education fundraising as well as how dataand our technological infrastructurefeeds Caltech's development professionals with actionable information and opportunities for fundraising success through hands on learning projects.

Essential Job Duties
  • Expand prospect pool for fundraiser outreach throughutilizing business intelligence tools and techniques, conducting research ratings, data mining, and thediscovery of alumni information to enhance Caltech's donor database.
  • Conduct financial analysison individual's portfolio worth and calculate a philanthropic giving capacity.
  • Conduct data mining to locate various targeted populations.
  • Learn how to utilize business intelligence tools such as LexisNexis, Crunchbase, Intelligize, Tableau and others to search for important data points such as wealth information, business and career history information and contact info on potential prospects in the system with a focus on reunion year alumni.
  • Perform prospect development tasks and analysis assigned by the Director of Prospect Development.
  • Partner with each team in DBI and learn the core aspects of their business and receive an introduction to usage of data, major technological tools andworkflows.
  • Collaborate with members across AAR to accomplish tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High-school diploma and working towards a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Data and analytical skills.
  • Ability to stay organized.
  • Mathematical Understanding.
  • Curiosity/interest for Advancement.
  • Positive attitude.

Hiring Range

$18.50 - $22.00 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
