Since 2018, HPI has been used to guide the allocation of more than four billion dollars from California state and local agencies, health care and philanthropy, directing resources to communities most in need. HPI has widespread support and has been utilized by more than 100 government agencies, local and state health departments, health care institutions, community groups and other sectors across California for a variety of different purposes.

In recent years, the HPI has also expanded to the state of Utah and additional data visualization and analytical tools such as the HPI Story Maps feature and the HPI Extreme Heat Edition. The incumbent should have project management, data skills, and expertise to assist us in supporting the entire family of HPI products and its ongoing expansion.
