Description
The Facilities Maintenance Engineer facilitates repairs and daily maintenance operations of the physical facility by performing general maintenance. Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) to maintain building functions. Troubleshoot, repair and or coordinate repair of all building related systems. This is a full-time position working M-F from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and will support a variety of Twin Cities Orthopedics locations. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Receives work order requests for facilities maintenance from employees, tenants, customers, or other visitors.
- Ensures work is performed in a timely manner, and triages requests to prioritize the most critical repairs.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with the Facilities and Construction team to deliver a highly efficient and quality focused outcome.
- Frequent interactions with external vendors. Responsible for managing and fostering day-to-day vendor relationships. Ensures alignment with service level expectations and compliance requirements
- Inspects and performs preventative maintenance or as-needed repairs on facilities or systems, which may include mechanical or electrical systems, HVAC or other environmental management systems, generators or power management systems, or fire or safety systems.
- Monitor and adjust building automation systems to maintain established building parameters
- Performs daily maintenance for the HVAC systems, chillers, fire/life/safety and facility mechanical equipment. Ensures the performance, condition, and reliability of all plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation of all equipment.
- Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance on sinks, water faucets, toilets, etc.
- Diagnoses and trouble-shoots problems and replaces or repairs parts. Records work performed per established guidelines
- Maintains accurate records of building systems equipment and changes to the buildings.
- Preforms office/furniture moves, simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction, exterior cleanup, etc.
- Key player in new building design and equipment selections.
- Facilities subject matter expert for AAAHC accreditation and other governing bodies certifications.
- Incumbent will be required to be on call for evening and weekend hours on a rotational basis. Schedule may be flexed to accommodate for off hours worked.
- Occasionally participate in community functions relating to outreach events throughout the year.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Completion of a Building Maintenance program with HVAC training preferred
- Experience with Johnson Controls building automation system required
- 4+ years of experience in this field

- Work with minimal supervision. Incumbent will sometimes be the only facilities resource on the premises and will need to be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.

- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
- Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
- Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
- Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
- Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
- Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
- Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Understand and execute a variety of instructions
- Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
- Travel to other work locations around the metro
