Job Description

The AMER HSSE Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE for the Americas region of one of JLL's Work Dynamics accounts. The most important objective of this role will be to ensure that our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day.

The role is highly visible, and the work is high tempo. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE matters.They must be able to assess, communicate and mitigate HSSE risk and be able to coach different segments of the organization to develop a strong culture.

Day-to-to-today accountability is to the JLL Global HSSE Account Director with regular reporting on HSSE performance across the account to the regional Account Leadership team.

Other key stakeholders include the account leads for regional Operations, Engineering, Finance, HR, Sourcing, Projects and Client Team leads.

What this job involves

Performance

  • Implement Global and Regional Work Dynamics HSSE strategic objectives and execute them for the Synopsys Account, ensuring effective operational relevance at the regional level.
  • Manage and reduce operational risks across the account by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels.
  • Provide technical advice on relevant HSSE issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy.
  • Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation
  • Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSSE risks
  • Manage performance of KRIs, aligned with Client expectations
  • Ensure site risk assessments are in place in line with local, state, and country legal requirements and Client Risk Control Standards
  • Manage account process for incident and accident investigations in the region
  • Organize, implement, and maintain an effective account regional HSSE communication plan
  • Contribute to the Account Global HSSE Team in communication, creation of new programs and initiatives, and professional collaboration

Leadership

  • Foster a Culture of Safety across the region
  • Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved
  • Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the Synopsys Account, as reflected by client feedback.
  • Embed JLL Work Dynamics HSSE requirements and meet client requirements and standards.
  • Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Teams organizations, and 3rd party vendors
  • Contribute to the Work Dynamics HSSE program as part of the Divisional HSSE leadership team
  • Ensure 3rd party vendors maintain compliance with JLL Work Dynamics and IBM Account HSSE Standards at all times.

Standards

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global and Regional HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL's HSSE aspirations.
  • Drive the development of best practice HSSE training programs and resources.
  • Implement HSSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL's contractors and supply chain vendors.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of regional HSSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation.
  • Oversee the successful management of assurance for the regional HSSE program, while supporting growth strategies related to Client, JLL and/or national and industry standards.

To apply you need to be / have:

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years' HSSE management experience within Operational Managementsystems and collaborating with corporate clients.
  • Appropriate recognized Professional HSSE qualifications and memberships (Example, CSP, CIH, CRSP, CHMM)
  • Management system development, implementation, and auditing experience.
  • Deep understanding of the HSSE regulatory environment in major markets
  • Experience of implementing HSSE technology platforms and data management tools across multiple countries & regions.
  • Experience of functioning in a large varied, multi-cultural team.
  • Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques within a real estate environment and management of risk across a complex multi-site property portfolio.
  • Significant practical experience of problem solving HSSE issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes
  • An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management - able to operate effectively in a matrix structure.
  • A strong orientation to goals and measurable results.
  • Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate at all levels of the account.

  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
  • Strong cultural awareness: unwavering ethical standards; drives excellence and innately collaborative. Understands how to be effective operating across geographies and cultures

Estimated total compensation for this position:

90,000.00 - 110,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
