Strength and Conditioning Men's and Women's Hockey
Reports to: Susan Hoppe

Scope of Position:
Responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for our Men's and Women's hockey teams. Utilize organizational skills to manage strength and conditioning facilities and budgets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delivers strength and conditioning services to members of the intercollegiate Men's and Women's Hockey teams. Including but not limited to: scheduling, designing and administering programming, serving as a resource for nutritional education and other duties as assigned.
  • Design and daily administration of strengthening, stretching, agility/plyometric, speed development and all conditioning exercises to assigned teams in order to obtain desired results.
  • Provide instruction in safe and effective spotting procedures for all lifts to ensure maximum effect of the exercise and the safety of the athlete is maintained.
  • Administer and evaluate testing procedures to identify both athlete and team strengths and weaknesses.
  • Manage and maintain inventory and strength & conditioning infrastructure.
  • Establish a good line of communication with coaches of designated teams.
  • Performs other duties not specifically stated herein but deemed essential to the operation of the strength & conditioning program as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health, or related field
  • CSCS certification
  • Strength & conditioning coaching experience at the junior, collegiate, international, professional or similar level
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/MS degree in exercise science, kinesiology, health, or related field
  • USAW certification
  • 3 years strength & conditioning coaching experience at the collegiate hockey setting
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel and other technology (examples: TrainHeroic, GPS DataViz, Polar Heart rate monitor system)
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $56,000 - $64,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
