RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Clinical Instructor to work in the Develop Innovation & Research Department, at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus is a fully accredited acute care hospital dedicated to providing the finest medical and health care services to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth counties. An affiliate of the RWJBarnabas Health system, Monmouth South is a sister hospital to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

Monmouth South is the only hospital in the region to provide private rooms on all of its inpatient units, providing an environment more conducive to healing. Several other enhancements have been made to provide superior service to Lakewood and the surrounding region as well, including the Better Health Senior Membership Program, state-of-the-art Geriatrics Institute, and an expansion of cancer services.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, or matriculation in baccalaureate Nursing Degree Program
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Two five years recent hospital clinical services
  • Two years teaching related activities.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS AHA certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
  • Certified in education or Sub-Specialty preferred.

Preferred:

  • BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift, Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates an ability to express self effectively in all areas of communication (verbal, non-verbal, written): utilizes effective listening and questioning techniques along with appropriate communication methods.
  • Demonstrates effective teaching skills through appropriate instruction methodologies; communicates principles of adult education and applies adult learning theory when conducting programs.
  • Develops, plans, and implements educational programs (e.g. orientation, skill training, and continuing education) in collaboration with employees, directors/managers, and members of the Educational Services Department.
  • Ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs to meet JCAHO recommendation and State Health Department requirements on an annual basis.
  • Evaluates all continuing education/training programs; adapts programs as necessary as a result of feedback; utilizes accepted evaluation of all educational programs; maintains documented evaluation of all educational programs.
  • Informs hospital personnel of educational activities through the distribution of posting of outside seminars, workshops, and lectures pertaining to current issues in health care or relevant areas of skill development.
  • Regularly encourages personnel to grow professionally by pursuing educational opportunities both inside and outside the institution.
  • Updates and revises program (e.g. orientation, skill training, continuing education) as needed, in accordance with education Standards and hospital policy and procedure.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
