D489 Medium Voltage Medium Frequency (MVMF) SWITCHBOARD SYSTEMS ENGINEER (MECHANICAL) (ENGINEER I/II)
Overview COLUMBIA Integrated Power Systems (IPS) Engineering has an opening for an engineer to support design, test, shipboard integration, analysis, and system testing of the COLUMBIA Class Medium Voltage Medium Frequency (MVMF) Switchboard. The D489 MVMF Switchboard team responsibilities include MVMF Switchboard design development/redesign efforts, qualification testing, and analysis for all systems within the component including control systems, fluids systems, structural, and materials. Additionally, the team has a strong focus on driving the supplier deliverables, test procedures, test reports, and design to meet all applicable requirements without deviation while identifying deficiencies in the specification to apply lessons learned to future electric propulsion plant submarine applications. Engineers in the group will assist in MVMF Switchboard construction support and shipboard integration at Electric Boat manufacturing facilities and test support at the IPS Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) in Philadelphia, PA.
