Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans and test cases for battery pack systems, encompassing both hardware and embedded software functionalities.
  • Design and implement automated test setups and scripts using various tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW)
  • Conduct functional, robustness, and fault injection testing on the integrated software and hardware systems.
  • Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and generate detailed test reports with clear findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineers to understand requirements, design specifications, and implement effective validation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, scripts, and test environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation issues.
  • Select and specify appropriate electrical components, sensors, and communication networks for automation systems.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and interlocks for automated equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of validation processes and methodologies.
  • Follow and enforce all lab safety protocols
  • Maintain clean workspace

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or closely related STEM
  • 5 years of experience working with battery, Battery Management System (BMS), or HIL technologies
  • This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software and hardware validation testing and test automation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of test equipment, LabVIEW, and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with microelectronics circuit design and high voltage systems
  • Experience with communication protocols, CAN-FD and CAN over Ethernet
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $125,000.00 - $156,200.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
