Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Accountant will support the needs of the Accounts Payable department. This individual will be responsible for learning the invoice processing system while communicating and working with key departments and vendors to ensure invoices are paid on a timely basis. This role reports to the Accounting Supervisor and is located in downtown Houston, TX. Level and salary commensurate with background and experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Process and validates invoices for appropriate coding and routes for approval
- Handle vendor related inquiries
- Assist in resolving issues related to invoicing approval and payment
- Prepares and submits vendor set up/maintenance requests
- Prepares journal entries, as needed
- Participate in special projects, as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (accounting degree preferred)
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate effectively across the organization
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; detail focused; able to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong MS Excel skills

- 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience

- Oil and gas industry experience
- Enertia software experience
- OpenInvoice software experience
