Starting Salary: $88,092.00

This position is covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

The Contracts Coordinator will direct and coordinate the preparation and processing of the CDA contract documents for the procurement of goods and services. Each Contracts Coordinator is instrumental in the contract lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

* Works with various Users and Using Departments, scope development, reviewing bid and proposals, recommending contracts for award, preparing and processing contract revisions, amendments, and extensions.

* Serves as the liaison to various Using Departments, including Procurement Services, Risk Management, and Law.

* Prepare various contract status and summary reports, supervise the maintenance of contract records, and review and revise contract specifications for goods and services.

* Inform and instruct the relevant parties (i.e. the Users) on current contract availability and contracting process requirements.

Location: Chicago Department of Aviation

O'Hare International Airport

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's plus four years of work experience in the development, negotiation, and administration of procurement contracts; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

NOTE: A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required.

NOTE: The candidate selected for hire must pass a background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an applicant to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview and the skills assessment/writing exercise, will be selected.
