The Opportunity

Future focused and always one step ahead!

We're seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our team of experts in modernizing pricing tools across Munich Re Specialty - North America. As a key player in this transformation, you'll develop and maintain pricing tools for account pricing and portfolio steering, and partner with actuarial colleagues, Underwriting, IT, and Operations to develop our next-generation pricing capabilities.

In this position you will:

  • Support the multi-year transformation from legacy to modern, modular, cloud-based pricing tools
  • Develop and maintain pricing tools for account pricing and portfolio steering
  • Partner with actuarial colleagues, Underwriting, IT, and Operations to develop our next-generation pricing capabilities
  • Learn the intricacies of pricing for multiple lines of business
  • Work with Underwriting on operational efficiencies and support individual deal pricing
  • Support the launch of new products and expand the capabilities of existing products in property, casualty, professional liability, and specialty lines of business

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in insurance pricing, preferably supporting commercial or specialty insurance products
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Strong experience in R, Python, SAS, or other statistical software in insurance pricing applications, with Python experience strongly preferred
  • Progress toward membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society, as demonstrated by passing of actuarial exams.
  • Understanding of and ability to discuss and apply the use of existing and new actuarial concepts/techniques involving exposure adjustments, trend, loss development, exposure rating, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; New York City, NY; and Hartford, CT. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. This role is designated for either Princeton, Philadelphia, New York City, or Hartford and reflects multiple geographies. The offer will be adjusted per geography.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $86,600-$138,100, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the New York Coty job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
