The Opportunity

The Business Analyst role involves a broad range of responsibilities to drive business transformation and process improvement. The successful candidate will gather and analyze business requirements, collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and goals, and facilitate workshops to elicit requirements and ensure stakeholder buy-in. Additionally, they will analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies and develop recommendations for improvement, creating process documentation and assessing the costs and benefits of implementation. The role also includes change management and training responsibilities, such as supporting the adoption of new processes and technologies, and developing training materials for end-users. Overall, the position requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to contribute to multiple projects concurrently and escalate issues as needed, while working with core systems and preserving work products and artifacts.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for key transformation projects and processes,.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables

  • Facilitating workshops and meetings to elicit requirements, validate solutions, and ensure stakeholder buy-in.

  • Experience with creating preserving work products and artifacts

  • Understand a core system in the value chain (e.g. Duck Creek, D365)

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Analyze current processes, and identify inefficiencies, and assist in developing recommendations for process re-engineering opportunities.

  • Develop simple process documentation, including process maps and supporting documentation.

  • Gather and document the costs and benefits of implementing an opportunity

Change Management & Training

  • Understand and support change management strategies to facilitate the successful adoption of new processes and technologies. Assist in developing training materials and support resources for end-users.

Project Management

  • Contribute to multiple projects concurrently as assigned, Escalate issues and risks as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Typically, 3+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or similar role within the insurance, financial services, or other related industries

  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present or lead discussions with various stakeholders.

  • Passionate about delivering high-quality work products and output, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and excellence.

  • Understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and experience working within cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with Agile project management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

  • Analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and make data-driven decisions.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools

  • Proven ability to contribute to multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, while consistently meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of performance.

  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies

  • Experience with an insurance-specific software, such as policy, billing, and claims systems

  • Negotiation skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders and third-party vendors.

  • Experience with data governance principles.

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Princeton and Philadelphia. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. This role is designated for either Princeton or Philadelphia and reflects multiple geographies. The offer will be adjusted per geography.

The base salary range anticipated for this position is $72,000-$105,600, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).

The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the New Jersey job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
