SALARY RANGE: $97,000 - 110,000 POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides management support on contract matters related to Ship Repair. Responsibilities include reviewing and understanding specific contract requirements for projects and supporting Project Management in meeting timely adherence to those requirements.Specific management tasks would include but not limited to: contract submittals and deliverables, billings and collections, contract notices, change order management support, contract dispute resolution, letter writing and subcontract/vendor management. This position requires an individual who has experience in contract review and interpretation including government contracting, good written and verbal communication skills, a general technical understanding of structural and machinery equipment. JOB SCOPE: This job is performed with considerable flexibility for initiating improvements and exercising independent decision making within the assigned work area. The position is expected to adhere to established procedures as they may be required by law and/or company policy.Independent judgment is used in scheduling and accomplishing work, analyzing alternatives and maintaining recordkeeping systems. The work is performed with limited supervision and necessitates the coordination of priorities and schedules of a number of other employees and/or co-workers. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:None INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: The position is expected to interact with employees at all levels throughout the company as well as with customers, the public and others encountered in the course of the work. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's Degree is preferred along with NCMA certification. Minimum of two years of progressive responsibility with quantifiable results in government/commercial contract management. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: None required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting.There may be times where the individual will be in production areas in manufacturing environments inside and outside.The incumbent must be able to walk to and from job sites. Also, the person may be required to work more than 8-hour shifts and weekend work.There will be the need to travel up to 20% of the time out-of-town (including air travel) with notice.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT: While in production areas, the individual will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dusts and odors.
